SHA will open in September 2023 going up to Grade 9. The plan is each year following, the ascending class would continue forward, and we would add one more grade each year until Grade 12.

While the detailed schedule is being finalized, the hours of school will generally be from 8:45 am to 2:30 pm (with 8 am Mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), and with before and after-school care available for families that need (see following question).

We are pleased to announce that before and after-school care is available right next door to Sacred Heart Academy. The centre hours are from 6:15 am to 6:30 pm. SHA teachers will be able to walk your child(ren) over to the after-school program at the end of our school day at the Academy. Families will need to make their own separate arrangements with the centre for before and/or after-school care.

In case of need, families have the option of paying their tuition in 2 yearly installments (September and January) or even 10 monthly installments (first of the month), by post-dated cheque. As well, some families have found assistance through their parish Knights of Columbus, Catholic Women's League or other such group. SHA would be happy to provide letters or information to these groups in support of your request for financial assistance. We don't want to turn families away for financial reasons, so do reach out to us at info@sacredheartdurham.com and we can continue the conversation about options.
