About Sacred Heart Academy

Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) first started as a homeschool co-op in 2017, serving the needs of parents in the Durham region who were looking for alternative Catholic education options. After five successful years building a community of faith, learning, fellowship and friendship, Sacred Heart expanded into a kindergarten to Grade 8 school, educating students in the truth, goodness and beauty of a solid, well-rounded Catholic classical education, cultivating their virtue and character, deepening their faith and sharpening their intellect.

​Through Catholic lifestyle exemplified in our day-to-day practice at school, we prepare our students to live with a moral purpose and conviction knowing always they are loved and cherished by God, thereby laying the foundation for future learning opportunities and ultimately success in this life, and eternal salvation in the next.
